Some group on Ghanaians are calling on the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to legalise marijuana for recreational and medicinal purpose in Ghana and one of such groups is the Baifikrom Nyabighi House of the Central Region.

According to the group in a press statement copied Awake News, the mark the World Marijuana Day says “We are by this release calling on the government of Ghana led by his Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to legalise the sacred marijuana for medicinal, economic and sacramental purposes to enable Ghanaians farm and export it to boost the Ghanaian economy”.

The group sadly reminds the president what they go through on a daily basis due to your belief and culture. They recounted:

We the Rastafarians and good citizens of Ghana are still suffering police brutality and sometimes lead us into prison for decades and over which many have died through these activities.

We the Rastafarians have been tortured and scorned for decades in our religious beliefs, culture and sacrament at practice and owners with nature.

They are of the strong view that they do not fall outside the universal human right bracket and must also be respected for their rights and freedom.

We know that the universal human right is to protect everyone for what he/she worships. Today, the marijuana that they unreservedly protected is now recognized by the world for its medicinal values

“We ask the government to legalise it for Ghanaians for our rightful demands to enable us to boost our economy through medicinal and recreational marijuana in Ghana.” – the statement added

A CALL FOR THE LEGALIZATION OF MEDICINAL AND RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA

BAIFIKROM NYABHINGI HOUSE.
( RASTAFARI CONSCIOUS YOUTH MANKESSIM, C/R. Ghana)

We the rastafari conscious youth at Baifikrom Nyabighi House (Mankessim Central Region of Ghana extend our warmest greetings to all as we observe World marijuana day with our seasonal legalization walk on Saturday 20th April, 2019.

We are by this release calling on the government of Ghana led by his Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to legalise the sacred marijuana for medicinal, economic and sacramental purposes to enable Ghanaians farm and export it to boost the Ghanaian economy.

We the Rastafarians and good citizens of Ghana are still suffering police brutality and sometimes lead us into prison for decades and over which many have died through these activities.

We the Rastafarians have been tortured and scorned for decades in our religious beliefs, culture and sacrament at practice and owners with nature.

We know that the universal human right is to protect everyone for what he/she worships.
Today, the marijuana that they unreservedly protected is now recognized by the world for its medicinal values. We ask the government to legalise it for Ghanaians for our rightful demands to enable us to boost our economy through medicinal and recreational marijuana in Ghana.

This petition seeks to
1 Fill an important gap in the industrious marijuana markets for authentic quality produce to create jobs and business opportunities for the people of Ghana in the new marijuana industry and also strengthen marijuana Ghana.
It is noted that Colorado topped by $7 billion in 2018.”
2. Create marijuana licensing authority to be run by small farmers’ collective administrative support
3. Eradicate the production of GMO chemical marijuana in Ghana in order to reduce contamination and maintain the authenticity of natural Ghana marijuana.
4. Take advantage of the international and commercial drive for health.
5. All the marijuana prisoners be set free and government should settle the issue in the new marijuana industry. Wellness products by specifically marketing medicinal Ghana marijuana

In conclusion:
Ghana’s future economic state in marijuana revenue will be at risk if the government of Ghana does not proactively access the market at an early state directly behind other key players.

Ghana’s organic marijuana has the highest medical strength and demands for it are increasing from many countries.
The health of Ghana would be best helped if the government creates and extended policy beyond authentic marijuana to enforcing a ban on the importation of all genetically modified organisms to ensure that Ghana do no suffer any long term health effect.

It is in the interest of the government and the people to stimulate the economy by providing start-up loans and grants to a small business as incentives to enable them to access and to grow the market, we are also calling for such incentive for small farmers to expand the Ghana medicinal and recreational marijuana industry.

We also call upon the government of Ghana to establish a new model approach that embraces Ghana marijuana growing cultural tradition. ( Widely celebrated in song lyrics and other literature).

Ghana’s production must be entirely managed by both local and national growers authorities within the framework of applicable international law having and exercising full control of the issuing of licenses to businesses that interested in cultivating marijuana including terms and conditions on multiple commercial users.

It is clear that Ghana experience high unemployment rate, poor living conditions and social unrest among many other social ills in this modern day. As such, a thriving legal industry growing some of the world’s best and least genetically interfered with marijuana on our motherland of an unmatched beauty represent an immense opportunity and should be a major agent of reviving and boosting the economy in terms of GDP, increased business activities, employment creation, investing in education, hospitals and general infrastructure thus a collective building of Ghana’s economy therefore it’s wealth.

The marijuana industry has huge potentials and so we call upon the government of Ghana to investigate and recognize marijuana as a major source of unique income.

Recently on Tuesday 6th March, 2018, the United Nations (UN) released information on BBC which revealed that the United Kingdom (UK) is the world’s largest producer and exporter of marijuana goes on to show that UK produces 95 tons thus 44.9% of the world’s total production, the next closely followed competitor in Canada with 80.7 tons.
It’s not ironic that the restrictions imposed on Ghana are not achieved to buy external forces.
It’s also worth noting that the UK produces cannabis based medicine that is available on the NHS for patients suffering the effect of multiple sclerosis.

We are urging the government to become more dedicated to and irritate research in this area as well as provide educational industry, accelerated entry and expansion of Ghana marijuana onto world market where demand is growing and can be further developed.

However, as the first step, we are requesting that the government of Ghana relax conditions being enforced under it’s own cannabis licensing authority in order to allow small farmers participate in this multi billion dollar industry, whilst engaging constructively in establishing this new Ghana marijuana business support model.

Moreover, we are calling on the government of Ghana to engage in a more profound way and to follow the footsteps of UK, USA, Israel South Africa Germany and many other countries to legalise our one and only sacred marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes.

We the Rastafarians and good citizens of Ghana are looking forward to the government to act in the people’s best interest for their benefits as other countries have done in this industry.
We thank you and look forward to brighter future for Ghana, one that generations of tomorrow would be thankful for.

Thank you.
