The immediate past Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Comrade Victor Abdul-Satarh Quarshie Adonoo, has declared his readiness to contest in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries, to be able to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party in the Ayawaso Central Constituency, come 2020.

According to the former regional secretary, his desire to represent the party is borne out of his resolve to breaking the dominance of the NPP in the Constituency, since 1996.

In a declaration statement copied to Awake news, he acknowledged the role leadership and the entire membership of the NDC party have played in the constituency in a bid to win the seat.

“To the various leadership and entire membership, I acknowledge and duly recognize your hard work for how far we have come as a constituency.
As we prepare towards the crucial 2020 general elections, the NDC needs to put up a tried and tested candidate who understands the nitty-gritty of Ayawaso Central politics to break the NPP’s dominance and win the parliamentary seat for the great NDC party,” he said.

“It is in light of the above that I have decided to put up myself and contest the Ayawaso Central NDC primaries when the party opens nomination in the coming months,” he added.

Comrade Victor Quarshie believes he holds the key to breaking the NPP’s monopoly in the Ayawaso Central Constituency.

“Despite the fact that the NDC has not been able to annex the parliamentary seat in previous attempts, the luckiest bet for winning is by presenting a leading architect of the constituency, and that person lies in Comrade Victor Quarshie ; that is the surest bet to breaking the NPP’s monopoly in the Ayawaso Central Constituency”.


Mr. Victor Abdul-Satarh Quarshie Adonoo is affectionately called “VQ” by many in the political circles. He is a result-oriented seasoned political activist and strategist, with the track record of being dynamic and innovative with rich and undisputed grassroots mobilization skills.

Victor had his GCE Ordinary Level certificate at the New Juabeng Secondary Commercial, Koforidua, Oda Secondary School for GCE Advanced Level, and proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science, Technology (B.A Social Science; Law and Sociology) and Graduate School of Governance and Leadership (GSGL) respectively.

Victor Quarshie is also an Honorary Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) degree holder from the prestigious Commonwealth University (CUB).

Party leadership roles

Through the dint of hard work, Comrade Victor Abdul-Satarh Quarshie Adonoo has risen through the ranks of the party to become Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NDC, a position he held until the last Regional delegates conference.

Positions held in Ayawaso Central Constituency includes Branch Youth Organizer, Ward Coordinator (Alajo Ward), Constituency Treasurer, and Secretary with additional responsibility as Director of Elections for the Ayawaso Central Constituency.

In all these roles, he has contributed his quota to the growth of the party in the constituency and beyond, in diverse ways.

Comrade Victor Quarshie’s contribution to the growth and sustainability of the party is beyond measures. He masterminded the allocation of a number of projects to the constituency under the erstwhile Mahama administration, ranging from classroom blocks to toilet facilities, office structures, roads, among others. He is an ardent lobbyist, with monumental respect for the masses.
